Be Aware And Embrace Life

The whole world is one; it's a synthesis. Life is possible only through cooperation. All species and sub-species, all that exists, is the result of synthesis, of integration.

Disintegration means decay. The order of the universe would get disturbed with division and discord.

The science of environment underlines the importance of union for survival, of the desirability of not interfering with natural processes, of not upsetting nature's equilibrium, so that there is no confusion.

Greed and exploitation of natural resources has led to pollution, including that of the earth's atmosphere. The protective layer that scientists call the ozone layer surrounding earth shields us from the ill effects of direct radiation from the sun. The erosion of this protective cover could mean the end of life, if nothing is done to reverse the erosion.

It is, therefore, essential that we cultivate a constructive approach towards the environment.

For the evolution of constructive thinking, it is necessary to purify our consciousness. As it is, our consciousness is battling impurities; it is so identified with things and ideas. It must rid itself of all identification, so as to be capable of fitting in with the other and with society.

Violence, untruth and sense of possession and domination characterising our consciousness now needs to be got rid of. Our consciousness must be cleansed of these impurities; otherwise our approach will continue to be negative and destructive.

The first step towards achieving this goal is to transform our outlook from the materialistic to the holistic - by becoming more aware.

This is not an impossible goal; it can be done if an individual can learn to be sober, simple and tolerant; and become more a witness who is aware.

A negative attitude is caused by our materialistic approach that has made us too attached to material things.

The moment we see things for what they are, we would be able to understand the true value of material objects, and would never aspire to gain domination over them.

We would then realise the essential humanity of the other and see the other as being a part of us.

Otherwise, every situation will seem problematic; problems keep multiplying without any possibility of a solution. In such a scenario, even religion becomes a problem.

The only way out of this vicious cycle is to become less rigid in our thinking and in the way we feel and act.

Get rid of stereotypical conduct that makes us live a life of dejection. We need to be mindful and compassionate.

There are two kinds of insensitivity: Confused vision and thoughtless conduct.

A mediator must clearly understand that the first priority is to chastise attitudes by getting rid of ignorance. This would require experimentation and experience. Learn to experience truth.

Practise meditation. Mere accumulation of information and even knowledge is not enough. Practice combined with theory yields valuable results.

Know the value of the present moment. Gain insight by being a witness, by becoming more aware.

May our hearts be filled with an intense longing for liberation so that we may progress undeterred on the path of awareness and oneness. Therein lies our salvation.

Life Is A Football Pitch – Enjoy Every Momen

They say football is the ballet of the masses. There is no other way to describe a game that has legions of fans all over the world, something that the World Cup bears testimony to. And the fan following is by far the most passionate of any sport. Some have literally sacrificed everything for the game – spent all their life savings to faithfully support their teams on tour and even had families walk out on them. Their love for football supersedes all else. What is it that makes football so beautiful, so fascinating, and so seductive?

There is something really simple and inherently natural about football that anyone, no matter which part of the world he comes from or what language he speaks, can relate to. Little wonder that football is the most popular sport in the world. You don't even need to know the rules of the game to play.

Football is the game that teaches you all the dos and don'ts. As soon as the rotund rubber bladder is placed at your feet, you know what to do. It is precisely this that the planners of this year's World Cup had in mind when they christened the tournament ball `Jabulani', the Zulu word meaning `to celebrate'.

At the same time, football is much more than just kicking around and chasing a ball. It is a game that has honour, respect, courage, teamwork and discipline as its fundamental values.

French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus, a goalkeeper in his youth, had acknowledged that it was football that taught him everything about morality and duty. Camus's analysis stems from the fact that the camaraderie that one experiences on being a part of a football team, the sense of shared grief in loss and joy in victory, provides for great learning and wisdom.

The game of football itself is a metaphor for life, a constant struggle between free will and the unpredictable forces of destiny.

Just as in life, the number of variables in a game of football is huge.

To predict an outcome not only would we have to take into account the performances of each of the 22 players on that given day, but also consider external factors such as wind, liveliness of the pitch, flight of the ball, and team tactics, to name a few.

There are so many unknowns that a football game is not unlike the mysteries of the universe. Not even the best brains have been able to come up with a unified formula that explains everything in the cosmos.

The contradiction between classical physics on the one hand and quantum physics on the other continues to haunt us. Scientists have failed to marry the two effectively and come up with a universal theory of everything.

It is here that football might have an answer. For, like in life, contradictions reign supreme in football only to be intermittently superseded by moments of brilliance when opposing forces align to produce perfect symphony.

And what fans experience is blissful harmony when a player is able to see through obstacles, defy the unknown, take a risk and produce a spark of genius to achieve his goal. It is then that we realise that life is a football pitch and we ordinary mortals are connected to the music of the cosmos through the rhythm of the beautiful game

Be SMART in your Action Plans:

S = Specific:
Specific objectives clearly define what is expected in quantifiable terms, for ex. sell more part is not specific, Increase parts sales by 10% is specific.

M = Measurable:
The must be a way to measure the objective. For ex, if your objectives involve increasing sales per RO, you could use eREACT as a measure, which is a monthly web report that summarizes your dealership, performance, in several; key areas, including a repair order analysis.

A= Achievable:
The Objectives should be able to be completed with reasonable time and work efforts, Do not arbitrarily select an objective without knowing that it can be reasonably accomplished. For example, if your warranty Administrator is currently is averaging seven days for warranty repair to repair, five days may be an achievable objective.

R = Relevant:
The objective should be under the employees control and employee centered. For Example “Increase Profit margin” is not relevant for any employees, however, for part s whole salesperson, “increase in part sales by 10% is relevant.

T = Timely:
The objective should include a deadline for example “increase pars sales by 10% by the end of quarter”
