The 'Big Rocks' Secret

Greetings! To All,

The 'Big Rocks' Secret

An expert on the subject of time management was speaking to a group of business students. He stood in front of these high-powered overachievers, pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouthed Mason jar, and set it on a table in front of him. Then he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?"

Everyone in the class said, "Yes."

Then he said, "Really?" He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. Then he dumped some gravel in and shook the jar, causing pieces of gravel to work themselves down into the spaces between the big rocks. Then he asked the group once more, "Is the jar full?"

By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered.

"Good!" he replied. He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping the sand in and it went into all the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?"

"No!" the class shouted.

Once again he said, "Good!" Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim.

Then he looked up at the class and asked, "What is the point of this illustration?"

One eager beaver raised his hand and said, "The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things into it!"

"No," the speaker replied, "that's not the point. The truth this illustration teaches us is this: If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all."

The big rocks symbolize our top priorities. What are the "big rocks" in your life? Are you putting them in first?

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' . that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8) Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!

(9) Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response refer to # 3.

Two choices

You Have

Two Choices

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply,

“If I were any better, I would be twins!”

Many of the waiters at his restaurant quit their jobs when he changed the job. So they could follow him around from restaurant to restaurant.

Why???????

Becoz…………..

Jerry was a natural Motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, jerry was always their, telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to jerry and asked him “I don’t get it! No one can be positive person the entire tie. How do you do it?

Jerry replied “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, I have two choices today. I can choose to be in god mood or I can choose to be in a bad mood.

I always choose to be in a good mood.

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of the life.

I always choose the positive side of life

But it is not always that easy, I protested.
Yes it is, said jerry.

Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk every situation is a choice.

You choose how you react to the situation.

You choose how people will affect your mood.

You choose to be in good mood or bad mood.

It’s your choice how you have live your life”

Several years later,

I had heard that jerry accidentally did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business.
He left the back door of his restaurant open.

And then??????????

In the morning,

He was robbed by three armed men.

They want?
Jerry to open the safe box,

While jerry was trying to open the safe box,

His hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination.

The robbers panicked and shot him.

Luckily, jerry was found quickly and rushed to the hospital.

After 18 hours of surgery

And

Weeks of intensive care,

Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of bullets still in his body………………..

I saw jerry abut six months after accident.

When I asked him how he was,

He replied, “If I were any better, I’d be twins. Want to see my scars?”

I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.

“The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door,” jerry replied.

“Then after they shot me, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or could choose to die. I choose to live.”

“Weren’t you scared?”

I asked?

Jerry continued, “The paramedics were great. They kept me telling I was going to be fine.

But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared.

In their eyes, I read ‘He’s a dead man’

I knew I needed to take action

“What did you do?” I asked.

“Well, there was a big nurse shouting questions at me,” said jerry. “She asked if I was allergic to anything”

‘Yes’ I replied

The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply.

I took a deep breath

And

Yelled,
‘BULLETS!’

Over their laughter, I told them,

“Iam choosing to live please operate me as if I am alive, not dead”

“Jerry lived thanks to the skills of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude.

I learned from him that

Every day you have the choice to either enjoy your life or to hate it.

The only thing that is truly yours ------that no one can control or take from you

Is your attitude

So if you can take care of that, everything else in life becomes much easier.
